Ol Chiki Script Santali Language Script

Throughout the 20th century the Santali language has been written in a variety of alphabets like Devnagiri, Roman, Bengali, Odiya etc. The mode of writing was developed/created during the time of developement of others indic script by pondit Raghunath Murmu and most widely used throughout Chhottnagpur including West Bengal is called “OL CHIKI” which literally means “OL CHIKI PARSI”(OL CHIKI SCRIPT) it's consisting of 35 alphabets including 11 Vowel and 24 consonants. The Principle Six vowel are known as "Raha-Alang"(Main vowels) and 5 diacritic altogether become 11 vowels. The alphabets were arranged according to the concise linguistic principle and this arrangement was accepted by the Kherwal community for the development of “SANTALI” language and Literature. The system of transliteration used in the famous book “PARSI POHA” & " RONOR" (Grammar) confirmed to a system that scholar/writer have almost universally accepted to indicate the pronunciation of each "Kherwal" sound. It is a unique modern developed script which has both "Capital & Small" letter this Uniqueness of OL CHIKI PARSI/ALPHABATE is also proved from the used of the single alphabet “ING = I, AM= You, AJ= He" which indicate its richness from the other developed indict script of India. The deciphering of sign and symbol of the script can be understand from the literary drama book "BIDU-CHANDAN" which seems to be retrieving of the Indic Script used by the Kherwal Community during the period of “Mohenjo-Daro & Harapan” Civilizations.
